Thoughtful Thursday: Week 5 – What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now? #30things

Week 5 of 30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me

What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now

1) Richie – My amazing hubby who allows me to go nuts on him almost daily over silly insane things and still loves me all the same.  The man who still calls me sexy despite having a flabby mom belly and rocking mom jeans or sweats.  The one who has held my hair while I puked, nursed me back to health when I was sick or left work and ran home when I have had a melt down.  The man who carries me home an ice coffee every day despite it freezing his fingers.  The father of our four amazing children.

2) Khloe – My first born, constantly doing something that just has me say “wow.”  She often comes up with some of the weirdest rants when she is upset, to which I have to kind of look away and laugh.

3) Keira – My middle girl, constantly bubbly (ok most of the time) and having an attitude that just makes me want to scream at times.  Despite that every day she does something that can make me smile.

4) Kaylee – My youngest girl, my little spit fire.  Whether is dumping an entire bottle of dish detergent into her hair or telling me “I am going to punch you” because she can’t get her way, she is still my little sweetie and almost always ready to jump up and help out.

5) Kaleb – My little prince, growing and learning more and more each day.  Some of his babbles just make me smile.  I swear he really is saying stuff, his most recent is what sounds like “boobies, boobies, nuh nite” which he babbles when he wants to go to sleep or what sounds like “I love dada/mama.”

Favorite Book

The Drama Queens love books.  Any kind of book and they are happy.  One book that has stood out more than others is Rocket Town.  We received the book in May 2011 and it is still making it’s appearance now almost two years later.  You can read my review here.  The story is about astronaut and his dog as they journey through Rocket Town.  Of course there are other books they love as well, but this seems to be one of their all time favorites. They love learning about the opposites while seeing all the different rockets.

Thoughtful Thursday: Week 4 – List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could #30things

Week 4 of 30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me

List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could

1) DRIVE!  At 16 I decided to wait to get my permit and license and here I am now at 31 beyond afraid of driving.  I really wish I had done it then because I don’t think that I ever will now.

2) Finish school.  I dropped out in January of my senior year after being double promoted (I had missed a lot of time because we were sort of homeless).  Tell myself sure it is going to be hard, sure you have to take extra classes and work your butt off, but odds are I would have gone on to college.

3) Worry about myself and not everyone else.  I often worried about what everyone thought, so I would neglect my work or do stuff I wouldn’t normally do.

4) Be happy with myself.

5) Don’t allow myself to be used by people.

6) Weed out fake friends.

7) Worry less and enjoy the rest of my teen years.

8) Do more.  Join more clubs, join in more activities and committees.

9) Be in more photos!  I hate pictures of myself, but now that I am older I regret not having pictures of great times and not having them to share with my kids.

10) Save my money!  I held jobs from 14 until I became a SAHM and had next to no bills.  I could easily have a nice cushion put away to buy a house right about now had I saved.

Evenflo Snugli Car Seat

Introducing the new Evenflo Snugli car seat with temperature management technology.  Featuring Outlast® technology it includes everything you know and love about Evenflo car seats with the added benefit of temperature management.

What is Outlast® technology you ask?  With Outlast® technology the Snugli can absorb and store excess heat, helping to reduce overheating.  This allows your child to maintain a balanced temperature preventing chilling during the cold months.  If their skin temperature drops the seat releases the stored heat.  It also helps to reduce perspiration keeping your child drier.

The image above shows infrared taken of two seats.  Figure 1 does not have Outlast® technology while Figure 2 is the same seat with Outlast® technology.  The red in the images is heat, as you can Figure 2 has significantly less heat than Figure 1.
