Mommy & Me Crocheted Hats: 30 Fun & Stylish Designs for Kids of All Ages

Kristi Simpson has done it again! I first found Kristi through her hat patterns when I was looking for decently priced patterns for the kids. I fell in love with all her patterns and was thrilled when she announced her first book release and learned I would be getting a copy to review. I was so excited when she announced another book and couldn’t wait to see what she put together this time.
It was love from the moment I got the email. Mommy & Me Crocheted Hats is to die for. I love hats! They are by far my favorite patterns to work because I can usually do a few of them in a single day. This means completing a hat for each of the kids nearly all at once rather than them fighting who gets mommy to make them something first. I especially love that it is not really just mommy and me, I love she has including patterns for daddy too.
As I browsed through (you can browse through the look book) I had a hard time deciding what hat work first. Kaleb made the decision for me by pointing over and over at the Giggle Monster hat. Before I received the book I didn’t realize how low I am running on yarn, so I settled on a two shades of gray, white and baby blue. Though I am going to have to get some more colorful and fun yarn to really go all out with this book. I don’t know when I will let the Drama Queens pick out a hat, but hopefully soon once I have more yarn in hand. I am hoping at least one of them picks the Rosey Newsboy, but if not I know what I will be making for myself.
I am most fond of the fact that there is a great selection of patterns. From the girly to basic to fun and festive. There are great every day hat patterns like the Downtown Girl Slouch and Groovy Waves Beanie to the fun ones like Ahoy Matey! Pirate Hat and Daddy’s Bearded Dude Beanie. I already know I am going to be needing a lot of new yarn so the kids will have all sorts of new hats! Are you excited about this book? Well if you want to get your hands on a copy I have one to giveaway.
