Favorite indoor toddler activity
With the cold weather many days you find yourself at a loss of how to keep your toddler entertained. Share with us how you help to keep your toddler occupied on days when it is not nice enough to head outdoors.
One of the things the Drama Queens enjoys is playing with boxes. If you have watched Spongebob you might have seen the episode when Spongebob and Patrick use their imagination inside an empty box. The plus side about this is it can be very cheap or free, but can hold their attention for hours.
Our favorite way to play with boxes is to build a box city. Over the summer my hubby was able to bring home some large empty boxes from work and we had a couple of those Discovery Kids Color Me sets so we set them all up, put a bunch of boxes together and cut windows and doors into them making a neat play area. It was like tunnels for them and they could pop up and peak out at us and they played in them for hours. Because it is just cardboard you can easily change it to work inside as well. Whenever you make a purchase and the box is a good size fold it down and save it in a closet so when you get a cold or rainy day you can pull them all out and begin creating a box city. What makes it even more fun is they can take crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint and even stickers and decorate their city. When playing is done take the city apart, fold it back down and store it away for another bad day.
